Nothing says Master Dionne more than a good ole
fashioned seminar. He loved to teach and impress us. He worked his magic
every time he came to visit.
Yawara Seminar
Our next seminar is June 1, 2008.
The topic is using spontaneous reactions to survive a
sucker punch.
Yawara Seminar
This dynamic workshop is open to everyone including non-martial artists
and is recommended for anyone looking for a weekend self-defense
workshop. The yawara stick is simply a six inch acrylic rod keychain
that can provide you with extra options when defending against deadly
force. It is a great tool for third party intervention when you are
trying to help someone else being attacked or just trying to create
separation.
The seminar is just $30 and yawara sticks are available for $10 at the
seminar (it is not necessary to purchase yawara sticks as loners will be
available). Sorry, but due to space restrictions this workshop is
limited to the first forty registered people. Space can only be reserved
with full payment.
Participants must be 14 years old or older and must complete and sign a
waiver with parents completing the waiver if under 19 years of age.
This is a realistic workshop dealing with pain compliance, some
discomfort, minor bruising and abrasions can be expected with no long
term adverse affects.
When:
Sunday, June 1, 2008 - from 10:00AM - 6:00PM
Where: Mount
Saint Vincent University

(option: $10 for Yawara stick)
Bring: Money
or food for lunch, liquid.
We are constantly having seminars. So much so I can not
possibly keep this page up to date. Some seminars are full weekend 16-hour
seminars, but we also hold a lot of in-house 2-hour workshops as well. Below are
some upcoming events.
Basically there are two categories of seminars:
In-house Seminars
Open Seminars
In-house seminars are those that are open only to
active Kyushu-Ryu members. These seminars include weekend long seminars and
short two hour seminars. They occur all year round and pop up whenever
instructors are available and usually specialize on specific focused topics.
Open seminars are those that are open to the
public or other martial arts organizations. These seminars usually run a minimum
of 8 hours but often go 16 hours over the course of a weekend. If you are a
martial artist and are interested please drop me an email and let me know. Also,
check the RSAD website and the
TACT site for other open seminars.
