Chief
instructor Frank Zinck - Master Zinck holds a fifth degree black belt and
a Menkyo Kaiden Masters ranking in Kyushu-Ryu Ju-Jitsu.
Master Zinck also holds a second degree black belt in
Karate-do Shotokai and still trains on a regular basis at the Brookhouse
Elementary School off Spring Ave in Dartmouth. Master Zinck is also ranked in several
other styles and systems.
Master Zinck is the senior instructor of RSAD (Rape Self Awareness Defense) in Nova Scotia, a self-defense workshop for women offered throughout
metro. He is also a recognized senior NICT instructor and technical advisor as
well as a graduate of Tactical Academy of Controlling Techniques.
Master Zinck is best known for his work helping to develop
confident youth and is the creator of the internationally renowned “Bully Proof”
program. Bully Proof is assertiveness training for kids and teaches kids how to
deal with schoolyard violence in non-violent ways. Local law enforcement often
refers parents to Frank’s lectures and seminars.
Senior adult and youth instructor Troy Robertson -
Troy holds a Second degree black belt in Kyushu-Ryu and is a senior instructor at
the Dartmouth Kyushu-Ryu Ju-Jitsu club. Troy is a senior instructor and
technical advisor for RSAD and he's a graduate of the Tactical Academy of
Controlling Techniques and is a senior instructor and technical advisor of Nerve
Impact Control Tactics. Troy is a member of the KRJJ Foundation council and is a
senior member of the KRJJ Foundation Technical group. Troy is also the
co-treasurer for the KRJJ Foundation. Troy is a serious dedicated youth
instructor focused toward building the self-esteem of youth both in the dojo and
out in every day life.
Senior youth Instructor Ed Adams - Ed holds a
first degree black belt
in Kyushu-Ryu Ju-Jitsu and holds a first degree black belt in Karate-do
Shotokai. Ed's enthusiasm, guidance, leadership and devotion for the Youth
program has helped propel it to the successful level we see today. Ed is also an
active instructor in RSAD taught at Mount Saint Vincent University and an
instructor of the TACT system. Ed is also a graduate of the Tactical Academy of
Controlling Techniques, is certified in Nerve Impact Control Tactics and has
successfully completed workshops on Yawara stick and ground fighting.
Youth instructor Robin Michaud -
Robin is a brown belt with one black
stripe in Kyushu-Ryu and an energetic and charismatic youth instructor. A
former soldier, and actor, he has worn many hats. Robin’s favourite roles
however remain that of father, and youth ju-jitsu instructor. As a Training
Officer in a high risk facility, Robin is is integrated with medical staff in
looking for more efficient and harm free methods of controlling violence and
aggression in psychiatric patients, as well as initiating an innovative training
regimen for his crew. His dedication to providing fun and activities for our
youth makes him a role model second to none. He also holds a green belt in Payuth Muay Thai, and is a graduate of the yawara workshop, and the TACT/ NICT
seminar.
Youth
Instructor Johanne Connolly - is a Brown Belt and the secretary treasurer in Kyushu-Ryu Ju-Jitsu and
also practices Karate-do Shotokai. She is a strong leader and instructor in the
Kyushu-Ryu Ju-Jitsu youth program, she is the co-treasurer of the KRJJ
Foundation and the president of the Parents Kyushu-Ryu Fundraising Association.
Johanne is a Certified
Instructor of the RSAD (Rape Self Awareness Defense). Johanne
is strongly dedicated to helping build the self-confidence of women through
Ju-Jitsu and RSAD. She is also a senior instructor for Bully Proof
(Assertiveness training for youths).She is a
graduate of TACT (Tactical Academy of Controlling Techniques), is certified in
NICT (Nerve Impact Control Tactics) and has successfully completed workshops on
Yawara stick and ground fighting.
